Lewis transferred to Lincoln

James Carroll Lewis Jr. has been transferred Lincoln Parish Detention Center while he awaits trial stemming from an incident in Bernice.

Lewis, 24, is charged with the 2007 murder of Precious Annalee Story of Bernice. Story who was found dead in September 2007 near Junction City, Ark.
Two other suspects, Jamie Martez Johnson and Roger Lee, were also arrested in connection with the killing.
Johnson, who was scheduled to go to trial last July, committed suicide in his Union Parish Detention Center cell just five days before his court appearance on charges of second degree murder. He had been transferred to a one-man cell after trying to escape on more than one occasion.
Lewis is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
