The Union Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) has scheduled a second public meeting on its hazard mitigation plan update as part of a grant program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The second steering committee meeting will be at 2 p.m., Dec. 7, at the Union Parish Courthouse Annex police jury meeting room.
This meeting will give the public another opportunity to learn more about the hazard mitigation program and to see the existing 2006 plan document.
Further, the parish is interested in hearing from the residents and property owners regarding any problems that they have had in the past with flooding or wind damages or any other natural hazards.
Under the direction of the Union Parish OEP, parish officials will begin work to update the above mentioned 2006 comprehensive hazard mitigation plan.
