The long awaited name change of the Farmerville Recreation Center to the Willie Davis, Jr., Recreation Center is official.

Last Friday, Gov. Bobby Jindal signed House Bill 390, which authorized the Town of Farmerville to change the name, into law.
The bill was authored by state rep. Hollis Downs, R-Ruston and is named after the former Farmerville mayor.
“I tell you what, I feel blessed,’’ said Davis, who served as Farmerville’s mayor for 16 years. “Most people are dead when this happens. I thank God I’m alive and I could see it. I feel really good about it because I have something where people will never forget Willie Davis.’’
