Voters to decide humane society millage

Many area residents have felt for years that Union Parish has been going to the dogs, but Union Parish voters will get their chance in November to decide if they want to try and do something to relieve that problem.

The Union Parish Police Jury voted during a special-called meeting last week to allow the Union Parish Humane Society to place on a tax proposition on the Nov. 6 ballot to build an animal shelter for the parish.
