It was Christmas in July for area fire districts as the Union Parish Police Jury passed out Fire Protection Rebate checks during last week’s regularly scheduled monthly meeting.
The two percent rebate checks, totaling a combined $84,063.08, were based on the parish’s population figures as compiled by the Louisiana Tech University Business Research Center.
