UPSB must cut $1.8 million

Some faculty and staff in the Union Parish School District face a major transition, as the district makes adjustments in teacher-student ratios and attempts to more efficiently utilize its resources.

Union Parish School Superintendent George Cannon said close to 10 “classified” positions, including paraprofessionals, custodians and other support workers, will be eliminated and approximately 20 teacher positions have been reduced.
