UPSB approves Downsville’s charter; Approval by federal judge awaits

Downsville School will open its doors Aug. 15 with grades K-12, but with a new identity.
A proposed Type 3 charter, which will encompass the Downsville school zone, was approved by the Union Parish School Board by an 8-1 vote July 26 after the Board sought and received advice from an education consultant who specializes in charters.
