Lake drawdown underway
Only two spillway gates are operational, but lake still dropping at normal rate

The scheduled drawdown of Lake D’Arbonne began as scheduled on Sept. 4, but only two of the four gates at the spillway are open.“Some portions of the gates became inoperable to stop water flow so we simply decided to use the two that worked best,” said Bayou D’Arbonne Lake Commission vice president Steve Cagle.
