Lake level, anxieties rise following storm

Depending on who you talk to, flood control measures put in place last year on Lake D’Arbonne are either working well or a miserable failure.
Rainfall from four to eight inches over the last week across the lake’s nearly 1,600 square mile drainage area pushed the level above the 80-foot flood stage. Heavy rainfall of 2-4 inches Sunday pushed the level to 82.3 feet on Sunday.
