State official: Flood gate plan can be ‘tweaked’

Torrential rainfall on ground already soaked by recent rainfall draining into a lake at elevated levels.
Following several days of high anxiety last week, most concerned parties feel a $6 million flood control structure served its purpose.
State officials say Tainter gates installed last year on the Lake D’Arbonne Spillway allowed high water to drain from the lake almost 50 percent quicker than in previous years.
