The Union Parish Police Jury and Sheriff Dusty Gates have decidedly different opinions as to who should pay for the election Gates won in April to complete the unexpired term of late Sheriff Bob Buckley.
At their meeting June 3, jurors voted to ask the Louisiana Attorney General to render an opinion to determine who is ultimately responsible for the approximate $30,000 cost of the election.
