A Union Parish company has purchased almost 70 acres of the old Lake D’Arbonne State Park.

Union Property Rentals, LLC was the successful bidder at $415,000 on July 16 for the 68.3-acre parcel. The Louisiana Secretary of State Corporations database lists Willie Sensley Jr., Johnny Dollar and Mike Mabry as officers of corporation.

“We are still discussing the best possible use for it,” Dollar said. “However it’s done, it will help provide property tax revenue for the town for many years to come.”
