, Staff Writer

Choudrant resident John A. O’Neal Jr., owner of O’Neal Gas, and Willie Hendricks, mayor of Simsboro and managing director at JW Management Consulting Group, were appointed to the Bayou Lake D’Arbonne Watershed District by Gov. Bobby Jindal.

The board of commissioners of the Bayou D’Arbonne Lake Watershed District is composed of seven commissioners appointed by the governor. Each commissioner is a qualified elector of the state of Louisiana and who resides within the limits of Lincoln or Union parishes. Each appointment by the governor is submitted to the Senate for confirmation.
O’Neal and Hendricks will join five other board members — Steve Cagle, Micki Horrell, Noel James, II, Jack Rivers and Willie T. Sensley, Jr.
The board’s duties include purchasing, holding, selling and conveying land and personal property and executing such contracts as it may deem necessary in regard to Lake D’Arbonne.
