Farmerville High School’s LaDarien Brown signed a letter-of-intent last Thursday to play football at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.

“The campus felt down to earth,” Brown said. “It reminded me of home.”
Brown’s home for the last three years has been at Doc Elliott Stadium where he put up huge numbers.
The running back ended his senior year with 262 carries for 2,283 yards and scored 31 touchdowns.
Brown was a key player in the Farmers’ District 2-2A championship and run to the quarterfinals.
“A lot of people don’t understand the hard work LaDarien has put in on the field and academically,” Farmerville coach Joe Spatafora said. “He has only been in high school for three years and the dedication he has shown this year to get where he is, is an example of what a steal Southern Arkansas is getting.”
