Funeral services for “Spanky” James Powell, 24, of Marion, were held at 10 a.m. August 1 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville. Rev. Donald Reeves officiated.  Interment followed in Union Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.
 “Spanky” was born on December 27, 1983 in Monroe. He passed away on July 28 in Farmerville.
 He is survived by his son, Hayden Maxwell and fiance’ Marice Maxwell; father: Ronald Powell and Louise Duff; mother: Cheryl Worthington and step father Danny McGee; grandmother: Mary Jo Worthington and James Atchison; sister: Nikki Powell and husband, Casey Powell; Taylor Powell and Nikkie Duff; brother: Thomas Worthington and wife Luara; two nephews: Sevren and Castor Worthington; aunt: Stacy Smith and husband Matt Smith; and children, Sydney, Courtney, Chole Smith and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins, a niece and nephew; and the Powell family.
 Pallbearers were Randy Powell, Jason Rodrigues, Matt Smith, Jerry Patton, Danny McGee and Bo Thomas.
Visitation was held from 5-9 p.m., July 31 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.
