J. C. “Booger” Bearden (11-12-2008)
Graveside services for Mr. J. C. “Booger” Bearden, 87, of Farmerville were held Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at Sardis Cemetery. Bro. Phillip Farris officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Mr. Bearden, a retired Mill Operator, died Nov. 7. He was a decorated Veteran of World War II, having served in the European Campaign. He received the Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross and his wings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Bearden, one son, Gerald Dean Bearden, four brothers: Ollie Bearden, Aurthor Bearden, Clifford Bearden and James Marvin Bearden.
Survivors include his wife: Virginia Ann Bearden of Farmerville: five sons: Richard L. Bearden and wife, Sue of Haughton; James E. Bearden and wife, Barbara of Farmerville; Ronny Bearden and wife, Tammy of Farmerville; Jeff Bearden of Farmerville and David A. Bearden also of Farmerville; two brothers: Jimmy Bearden of Charlotte, VA. and David Bearden of Farmerville; three sisters: Dorris Lockwood and husband, Travis of Farmerville; Dorothy Lockwood of Farmerville and Linda Castle of West Monroe; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Josh Howard, Jimmy Farris, Blane Smith, John Messer, Freddy Messer and Bo Messer.
