Violet Brown (01-06-2010)
Funeral services for Ms. Violet Brown 81, of Marion, were held Monday, January 4, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Marion with Rev. Bubba Hoggatt officiating.
Ms. Brown entered into rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 1, 2010 after a long illness.
Funeral services were conducted by Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Visitation was held at the church Sunday, January 3, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial followed at the Marion Cemetery.
Ms. Violet as she was lovingly known, was born on June 21, 1928, in Holly Ridge, to George and Nora Humphries.
She was a life long resident of Marion where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marion.
She was a retired owner of the Kiddie Korner daycare center where she loved and was loved by the many children who were in her day care.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean Dodd and husband, Mark, and Marilyn Turner all of Marion; two granddaughters, Sondra Sellers of Marion and Theresa Draper of El Dorado Ark.; Great grandchildren, Jonah Sellers of Marion, Katelyn Draper of El Dorado, Ark.; Dustin Thompson of Huttig, Ark.; and Gwen Thompson,  of Marion; She was preceded in death by her husband, Bug Brown of Marion; her grandson, Joey Ford and great-grandson, Jay Cogburn both of Marion; five brothers and one sister and her parents.
She leaves behind those who will cherish her memory and friendship.
Pallbearers included Wayne Lowery, Dr. Elton Lake Medlin Jr. Mike Miller, Johnny Draper, Jackie Norton, and Jimmie Binford.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the First Baptist Church of Marion or the Alzheimer’s Association. 
Visitation was held Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church.
