Donald Allen Buddin (02-03-2010)
Memorial services for Donald Buddin, 63, of Marion, will be held Feb. 6 at the fellowship hall of Franklin Street Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Don passed away Jan. 6 after a lengthy illness.
Don was born in Fort Worth, Texas, moved to Brazil, South America six months later where he lived with his family until he was 17 ½. His parents were educational missionaries for several years. His grandparents were missionaries in Brazil for 33 years. He joined the U.S. Air Force and moved to Texas in 1964. He served his country for 24 ½ years. Don and Sandy married in Abilene, Texas in 1989 where they lived before moving to Louisiana in 1992. Don was a quiet man, but always up front, honest, generous and hardworking; he was a good provider for his family. He was preceded in death by wife Elizabeth (Sandy) Buddin; grandmother, Gertrude Morgan; grandfather, Finis Morgan; mother, Virginia M. Boother; father, Horace Everette Buddin; and youngest brother, Samual M. Buddin. Survivors include his son, Nicholas Buddin of Marion; two stepsons: Gary Ryan of Monroe and Jeff Savage of Abilene; stephdaughter Tammy Catoe and husband Jeff and daughters Allison and Katie of Wesley, Texas.; a sister, Sue A. Buddin and husband Gary L. Harrison, of San Angelo, Texas; a niece, Anna G. Buddin of Springfield, Virg.; and a stepfather, Lloyd Boone of San Angelo.
Don is also survived by his extended family on his wife’s side. who live in Louisiana and Texas, including his very special sister-in-law, Sue Phillips and Benny and their daughter Skylar.
Don’s family wishes to thank his extended family and friends, especially his sister-in-law, Sue, who cared for him in his hour of need. He was a very special person to those who knew him well and will never be forgotten.
