James Bart Cook (02-10-2010)
Services for James Bart Cook, 42, of Downsville were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 5 at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Kurt Auger officiating. Interment was in Ruggs Bluff Cemetery near Downsville. Arrangements were under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Mr. Cook, a foreman with James Machine Works for 21 years, died Feb. 2, 2010. He was a resident of Union Parish for 20 years. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, playing pool and restoring cars. He loved fast cars, his work and especially his family.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents: Lawrence & Mary Thomas and Henry Christopher & Jenny Cook; niece: Megan Smith and father-in-law: Lenwood Alvis.
He is survived by his wife, Angelina Marie Alvis Cook of Downsville; his parents, William Norman and Sarah Jane Cook; 1 sister, Sheri Graves; 2 brothers: Britt Cook & wife, Sherri and Murray Cook all of Farmerville; sisters-in-law: Jeni Alvis McMichael & husband, Wayne of Farmerville; Liz Alvis Wooldridge & husband, Scott of Tyler, TX; Laurie Alvis Doss & husband, Kenny of Bernice; Stephanie Alvis Canterberry & husband, Andy of Downsville and Tammy Alvis of Downsville; brothers-in-law: Terry L. Alvis & wife, Terry; Len M. Alvis & wife, Sherry and William W. Alvis all of Downsville; and extended family of numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers were Kenny Doss, Warren Alvis, Charles Smith, Winston Dupree, John Lindsey and Paul Henessy. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne McMichael, Andy Canterberry, Todd Lowery, Lavone McDonald, Philip McDonald, Mike Rainey, Mike Dodd, Warren Wilkerson, John Posey and Mike Merrideth.
Visitation was Feb. 4 at Farrar Funeral Home.
