Larry M. Bush (09-23-2010)
Larry M. Bush, 63 of Spearsville, LA; died on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Born on December 4, 1946 in El Dorado, AR; he was the son of Dillard and Opal Taylor Bush. Larry was a mechanic for Texas Gas Company and retired after 35 years. He was a member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church in Spearsville. Larry was a caring and loving father and husband. He enjoyed deer hunting and tending to his cattle and was a member of the Louisiana Cattleman’s Association. Larry was veteran, serving as an Army Medic in Vietnam for which he was awarded a Purple Heart, a Combat Medic Badge, a Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and National Defense Medal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant granddaughter Taylor Bennett.
Survivors are his wife Paulette McCall Bush of Spearsville, daughters Michelle Bush Bennett and Barbara (Eddy) Monk all of Spearsville and Betty (Michael) Batterton of Choudrant, a brother Andy Bush of Spearsville, a sister Barbara ( Don) Hogan of Downsville. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren Kaela Bennett, Megan Bennett, Hannah Monk, Hayden Monk, Hunter Monk, Kristian Batterton, Logan Batterton, and Taylor Batterton.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Beech Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Johnie Adkins officiating. Interment followed in the church’s cemetery.

The family received friends Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City.
