The Monroe team of Gary Roberts and Scottie Herron bested the field of 41 other teams in The Community Trust Bank “Battle on the Bonne II” bass tournament with a five fish stringer weighing 18.11 pounds on Lake D’Arbonne.
Their limit was anchored by the events Big Bass that weighed 5.12 pounds to give the team a $1,650 pay day. Roberts and Herron reported catching their fish by deep cranking the channel. The team of Craig Kolb and Mickey Fontana were second with 17.15 pounds of bass that were caught on a variety of lures including a chug bug. Kolb and Fontana earned $850 for the day. Jake Ormond and Patrick Sutton were third with 15.51 pounds for $650, Jamin Brower and Michael Holmes were fourth with 15.44 for $550; Martin Elshout and Mark Price were fifth with 15.36 for $410; Steve Talley and Kyle Chandler were sixth with 15.29 for $360; seventh were Adam Douglas and Jessie Parker with 14.40 for $250 and eighth were Scott Smith and Stacy Boggs with 14.32 for $200. This was the fourth stop on the 2012 North Central Louisiana Team Trail. The final qualifying event will be The Spotted Dog Sporting Goods “Shoot Out on the River” June 30 at Lazarre Point on the Ouachita River. The Circuit Championship will be Sept. 14- 15 on the Ouachita River.
