Hello, to the citizens of the Town of Farmerville, Family, and Friends. My name is Jeffery M. Woods, a candidate for Mayor, for the town of Farmerville. I was born in Farmerville in 1965 and I was delivered by Dr. Booth at Norris Clinic in Farmerville.

I have lived in the town of Farmerville for 25 years of my life. I’m the son of Mr. Gardie B. Woods (Downsville) and and Beatrice (Miller) Woods, (Spearsville) and the grandson of Mr. Jethro Miller (Bernice/Shiloh Community) and Allie Mae Miller (Spearsville/Farmerville). Also, the grandson Charlotte Johnson (Farmerville, LA) and Buster Woods (Downsville). I have four brothers (Gordy, Perry, Jerry, Tommie Woods of Farmerville) and one sister (Maria Latrice Woods).

I’m 54 years old and I have been married for over 20 years to Aldrenia Deaurn Woods (Jones) and we have a blended family.

We have one daughter (Ebony) and four boys (Brandon, Tony II, Andrez, and Dee). We have six grandchildren (Serenity Janae, Peyton Inez, Kinsley Deaurn, Landon Marc, Ethan Cole, and the youngest Kaylee Ticole).

I love the Town of Farmerville and Union Parish Communities. I’m a Passionate Leader, Combat Veteran, Volunteer Organizer, and Small Business Owner. I’m very excited about serving others and building the community as well as this parish. I am retired from US Army (Active Duty) with 31 years of military service, with 20 being active duty. I was deployed to Saudi Arabia for Desert Storm in 1990 for six months of duty. I was working Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in the Persian Gulf. I was deployed to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003 for seven months of duty. I was working Bagram and Kandahar Afghanistan. In 2005, I was deployed to New Orleans, LA for Hurricane Katrina for five months of duty. I retired from the military, August 31, 2019.

I believe in giving everybody an equal opportunity to succeed in life. No matter who you are, what you look like, and where you come from. We all can make a difference in someone life, if given a chance! I love my Family, Friends, and the Town of Farmerville. I’m the Pastor of God’s Will Ministry, Marion, and the Associate Minister of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Ruston, where the Pastor is Brandon J. Crew.

I’m member of the following organizations: Union Parish Chamber of Commerce, VFW Post #5442 (Member Chairperson, board member Union Community Care Action, Disabled American Veterans, Past board member Kiwanis of Ruston, Advocate for First Time Offenders-Union Parish, Past President/ Vice President of Kiwanis of Ruston, Volunteer for Union Parish Museum, Advisor for Union Parish High School Key Club, Volunteer for United Way Reading Program at Farmerville Elementary School, Advocate for Wellspring Homeless Program Farmerville/ Ruston, Past Kiwanis Advisor for Grambling State University CKI, Membership Chairperson for IA Lewis Terrific Kids Program, Chairperson for Backpack Feeding and Program for Kiwanis International. Received over 20 awards and Commendations through my military career. Awarded Kiwanis Champion of Change (White House) in 2012 and Kiwanis International CKI Humanitarian award winner.

I have two years of college and I attended college at El Centro College in Dallas TX. I’m an Ordained Minister of the Gospel, Hazmat Certified, and have a Government (Secret Clearance) till year of 2027. During this campaign for Mayor of the Town of Farmerville, I would ask for your prayers, support, and votes in this year 2020 Mayoral election.
