Curtis Doyle Pennington, 78, of Spearsville, LA passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, LA.

Doyle was born November 12, 1941 in Junction City, AR to the union of John Otis Pennington and Lizzy Belle Smith Pennington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Norvelle Welch Pennington, one sister, Veola Dison, four brothers, John, Jerry, Joe and Oscar Pennington.

He was a member of the Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church and was married to Norvelle Welch Pennington for 43 years. Doyle worked in the oilfield and was a carpenter. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sitting on his porch watching the birds and squirrels and spoiling his “boys.”

Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Wright of Shongaloo, LA and Mary Dison and husband James of Homer, LA, three brothers, James Pennington and wife Carolyn, Dale Pennington, and Lynn Pennington all of Spearsville, LA, his “Boys” Smokey, Charlie Boy, and Big Boy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Saturday, October 24 followed by a graveside service at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Spearsville, LA with the Reverend Billy Smith officiating. Interment was under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Junction City, AR.
