It was a cold 27-degree morning, February 12, 1994, when 40 year old Greg Wiggins and fishing partner Mark Smith launched Wiggins’ boat into the chilly waters of Caney Lake. The duo had to have been thinking about the trophy bass that Caney had been producing, including a monster 15.54 pounder caught a year earlier by Tommy Foster.

Russell Harrison recorded a double-double with a game-high 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds and three other Warhawks scored in double figures as ULM ended a 10-game losing streak in Sun Belt Conference play with a 72-66 victory over the rival Ragin' Cajuns Thursday night in the Cajundome. It also marked ULM's first win in Lafayette since Jan. 19, 2015, 57-55.

Louisiana Tech broke out the broom last Saturday, completing a two-game sweep of division leader UAB with a final score of 69-64 inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court. Down one and in a dogfight with over five minutes to go, LA Tech (17-6, 10-4 C-USA) rode the back of point guard Cobe Williams and a raucous crowd down the stretch to hand UAB (16-4, 9-3 C-USA) the same number of losses as they came into Ruston with.

Crappie USA travels to Lake D’arbonne

Crappie USA celebrates its 25th Anniversary of providing competitive fishing to crappie anglers in 2021. Anglers will travel from across the country to join the competition on Lake D’arbonne in Farmerville for the March 27 event.
