Another week another win for the Farmers. Now 6-0 UPHS, jumped out to an early 21-0 lead, but had to hold on for the 48-42 win.
Green Oaks, coming in with a 4-1 record, brought a potent passing game, which is what kept them in the game. Senior QB Keith Baker completed 28 of 42 passes for 436 yards and 6 TDs. Senior running back James Sanders carried the ball 19 times for the Giants for 124 yards. It was bend and not break for the Farmer’s defensive unit. UP went up 48-20 in the third quarter, but gave up 22 unanswered the rest of the way.
Trey Holly, behind another stellar performance by the Farmers’ offensive line, carried the ball 9 times in the first half for 221 yards and 4 scores. He finished the night with 15 carries for 308 and 5 TDs, giving him 25 through the team’s 6 games.
Quarterback Cole Dison completed 2 of 5 passes for 70 yards on the night, throwing scoring passes to Dylan Harris (25 yards) and Dentrell Franklin (45 yards).
JaQuarius Donald added 93 rushing yards on 19 carries for the Farmers.
Junior Blake Ramsey led the defense with 14 total tackles. Spencer Sensley and Kam Crow contributed 9 each.
The Farmers host district foe Carroll in a 7 p.m., Thursday game this week.
