Steele Netterville earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 First Team honors, which recognizes him as one of the nation’s top student-athletes for combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Netterville, owns a 3.89 grade-point average in biology after three years in Ruston. District 6 includes players on programs from the states of Louisiana, Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Netterville closed the 2020 season on an 11-game hitting streak that included 8 multi-hit games. The Shreveport-native won C-USA Player of the Week after hitting .556 with 4 home runs, 2 doubles and 14 RBI in a fourgame series against Maine. For his career, Netterville is a .299 hitter with a .403 on-base percentage and .554 slugging percentage. He has blasted 19 home runs and totaled up 87 RBI.
The junior was a Conference-USA All-Academic selection last season. He has earned a spot on the AD’s honor roll and C-USA honor roll every season since he arrived at Louisiana Tech. Netterville has also been recognized with the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal three times.
All honorees selected first-team Academic All-District will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced from June 8-11.
