UCA JV boys second in district championship


UCA’s junior varsity boys posted a second-place win in the district championship Saturday in Haynes-ville, while the girls’ team came in fourth.

In the championship tournament, the boys’ team won 34-23 over Bossier City’s Providence Classical in the first game. Top scorers were ninth-grader Kayshawn Washington, with 14 points, and Jeremiah Jefferson, with 11 points. The squad lost the second game to Minden’s Glen-brook Academy 47-26.

The Lady Lions put up a good fight but come up short against Claiborne Academy 41-7. Ninth-grader MattieLin Murray was the top scorer with 4 points.
