During the Farmerville Town Council meeting Monday, councilmen heard from engineer Markay Brown, who gave an update on the current sidewalk project that is under way.

Brown, an engineer with Meyer, Meyer, LaCroix and Hixson, Inc., told the group that the crews “actually showed up a week early”

With the rain the area has seen lately, crews with JD’s Rebar and Construction have had a tough time getting a consistent work week.

The plan for the sidewalks is to work only 200 feet at a time. The crews will tear up 200 feet and won’t move on until that section is replaced and complete, electrical work and all.

The crews will also provide access to any business that is affected by the construction.
