Round 2 of the LHSAA playoffs has second seed Union Parish High School headed to New Orleans to face No. 18 seed Booker T. Washington Friday.

Union is now 8-0 after defeating first round opponent North Webster 47-16 last week at home.

The North Webster Knights took the opening kickoff 80 yards to take an 8-0 lead in the last game, but Union put up 41 unanswered points after that before winning by the final margin.

Quarterback Cole Dison had his best night with the passing game, completing 10 of 16 passes for 190 yards and 3 scores. Two of those scores went to Trey Holly, his first receiving TDs on the season. Dentrell Franklin added a 71-yard receiving score.

Holly had 3 rushing TDs, gaining 204 yards on 14 carries.

Holly’s 5 scores on the night give him 35 TDs in the Farmers’ 8 games, an average of just over 4 scores a game.

Spencer Sensley had 5 carries for 38 yards and a touchdown, while JaQuarius Donald added 11 carries for 67 yards.

Senior Hayden Edwards led the Farmers with 9 total tackles, while Dylan Harris and Blake Ramsey each had 8. The UP defense had 11 tackles for loss in the game.

Friday’s opponent, BTW, is 6-4 on the season and beat McDonogh 35 in overtime last week for a first-round win.

The game will be played at the Pan American Stadium, 194 Zachary Taylor Drive, New Orleans, Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
