Youngsters up to age 18 are invited to let their imaginations run wild to enter the “Wowie Art” show and competition opening July 16 in the Discovery Place – Union Museum of History and Art in Farmerville. Entrants should paint and/or decorate “found” items, rather than traditional paper or canvas. Such items could include boxes, wood, rocks, boots, watermelons, horseshoes, milk jugs, chairs, shells, wheels, bottles, etc. Artists may use chalk, paint, markers, crayons, glue, tape, wire, sequins, etc. to em bellish and/or combine elements.

Bring up to three entries to the museum Wednesday, July 15, from 2 to 5 p.m. at 211 N. Main St., corner Franklin Street, in Farmerville. Other drop-off arrangements can be made by calling 318-348-2005. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded to winners.

Artworks will be displayed to the public from July 16 – 22. For more information, visit
