UP family winning with crappie

Cole Stewart from Linville, and his Father Terry Stewart from Clinton, MS, are having a great year crappie fishing in several crappie circuit tournaments across the southern United States. This father/son team has qualified for two National Championships this year. Here are some results for the Stewarts so far this year:

First place Ross Barnett in Jackson on April 4, with Magnolia Crappie Club

First on Grenada Lake on May 23, with Magnolia Crappie Club

Ended the Magnolia season in first place for the overall points

Stewarts also got 16th place at Kentucky lake with American Crappie Trail

Fourteenth place on the Ouachita River with the American Crappie Trail

Second place finish on Grenada Lake with the American Crappie Trail

They are currently 4th in the points race for the American Crappie Trail

They had another Magnolia tournament on Grenada last week where they got 2nd

Make sure you cheer them on, along with several other local crappie fisherman who qualified for the championship with Crappie Masters on the Ouachita River this weekend. Crappie Fishing has become a huge sport /industry in north Louisiana with American Trail and Crappie Masters holding nationally televised Championship Tournaments on both The Ouachita River and Lake D’Arbonne.
